The biography:
Giulio Caccini was born in Tivoli or Rome around 1550. Little is known about his early musical education; he studied voice, lute and harp under Giovanni Animuccia and Scipione dalla Palla and during the years 1564-1565 he was a member of the Giulia Chapel (Cappella Giulia) in Rome. Shortly after he moved to Florence where, thanks to his singing skills he was admitted to the Accademia which in the years 1575 to 1582 convened in Giovanni Bardi’s palace, the so-called Camerata fiorentina or Camerata Bardi.
